Pre-Klopp era…

Dejan Lovren and Adam Lallana are not exactly what we would call "Liverpool legends". The two footballers heard more "candles" during the six years they wore the "rent" jersey, before leaving for Zenit and Brighton respectively.

However, there is something… romantic about their case. Both arrived at the port in 2014 from the…'s favorite talent pool of the English champions. Southampton! Between 2014 and 2019, six players left the "saints" for the "Reds", with Lambert, Klein, Mane and Van Dyke being added to the list of the two mentioned above.

Lovren and Lallana did not play a big role in the historic 2019/20 season, which finally found Jürgen Klopp's team champions. The Croatian stopper counted only 15 participations, being in the shadow of Van Dyke and Gomes. The English midfielder, for his part, played 22 times. However, both of them lived through the difficulties of the pre-Klopp era, as well as those of the German's early years at Merseyside, both of whom gave their best and were rewarded with a Champions League and a Premier League title, among others. If they could play for 6/10, they would do it with all their passion.

At the age of 31, Lovren left for Russia having worn the Liverpool jersey 185 times. He scored eight times, while he made the most full season in 2018, with 43 participations. Lallana left for Brighton having pressed 32 and with 178 matches / 22 goals with the "Reds".

"I can not realize that I won four trophies here," Lallana said in the wake of his departure from Anfield. Between 2014 and 2018 he did not conquer anything, just like Lovren. Champions League, European Super Cup, Club World Cup and English Championship came in the last two years but obviously they were worth the wait and the anxiety…
