Let's stay on the topic of the days, the coronavirus pandemic. After all, the ball is not playing and we do not know if, when, how and under what conditions it will be played again.
In all the difficult times of the past, Greek society has always been able to stand up to the circumstances, and governments have been disappointed. It was the state that proved to be a little problematic. And always the measure of comparison as high as possible. The Scandinavian countries. As if we could ever compare to them.
But these days, in the dark weather of the pandemic, what about Scandinavia, at least in the three countries we have put in a showcase as "gods" of infrastructure and the rule of law and education.
In Norway the cases were too many. Returning from the winter holidays when many had traveled to Austria and Italy, around 1.000 cases were found in the country. However, no action was taken by the government. The schools that closed a few days ago and generally every structure, closed because parents, teachers and those involved discussed it online and agreed to do so. At the moment it seems that with 1.370 cases and 3 deaths, the thing has been brought under control. It has not closed anything, however, out of fear or anxiety! No! Not even playgrounds and sports facilities. But the people limited their movements to the absolutely necessary. In fact, the Norwegians as citizens showed more zeal than their own government!
In Finland, sex-lovers Sanaa Marin has reached 300 cases and none of them have resulted in death. The official attitude of the government is calm, with no extra steps beyond what is necessary and Marin has decentralized decision making, it is up to the local authorities (mayors, school directors and company and business managers)! In our big "idol" as a country, finally, in Sweden, the cases have exceeded 1.100 and there are already 7 dead. But officially the Swedish Welfare State does not carry out tests on the citizens of the country (!) And all this results from serious cases that are treated with severe problems from the disease. In fact, the citizens accuse the government (!) Of covering it up as an attempt to appease the people who are suffering! However, the government has not made any restrictions, except urging citizens not to circulate too much. And the world is left to be protected, it does not wait for a gendarme state to do so!
So it is clear that the culture and education of every citizen in the Scandinavian countries is the biggest weapon of their governments to combat the pandemic. After all, strolling on the beach, having coffee outdoors and riding left to right under the blue sky and summer were never in their daily lives. Especially March month ...
